Ok, we really need your input. We’ve created a bunch of ways for you to give us your thoughts and ideas. They are:

This blog – comments your ideas and suggestions here.

Critique our current home page – tell us what you like on the home page.

Feedback Forum– use this forum to share your suggestions.

Student web site survey – sometime in November we’re gonna ask 100 students to take 20 minutes and do a love it/hate it / this is what I want! survey. Watch for announcements, be one of the first 100 students and tell us! Participants can register to win a $50 Target gift card. Refreshments will be provided.

Focus groups – this will be about 2 hours of your valuable time. It will include faculty, students, and staff. Here we will ask more in depth questions about the style and content of a library web site that will make you use the site. There will be food!  Interested ? – email and let us know

Online surveys – as time goes on, we will be creating site components and will ask for your feedback. Look for links here and on the library web site to participate.

Two web team members discuss the redesign

Two web team members discuss the redesign

…so quickly that all the pictures I take are blurry!

At our second meeting, we discussed the timeline for redesigning the website. There are lots of steps to putting together a successful website, and we will keep you updated on our progress here. One of the biggest pieces to the puzzle is YOU – the people who use the library’s website. The team discussed methods for finding out more about you; the blog is one way, but we are also planning to do surveys, interviews, usability testing, and more. A daunting task, but we’re ready!

We realize that our web site is well, too clunky to use effectively. So a web redesign team was created to look at how to make the site ‘better’. There’s eight of us on this team, and all 8 have a different idea and definition of what better means, and how to make the site better. And none of us are you, our primary users.

So, we’re turning to you for help. There will be many ways and opportunities to shout out and let us know what you need. This blog is one way. We’ll share info on our meetings, thoughts, ideas, decisions and we need, NEED your input. So please, comment away on our postings. Tell us what you are looking for. Don’t be shy, all we ask is that you use respectful language.

Be a part of the creation of a library web site that will support your success.
